View full detailsAt Architecture Mates, we offer a variety of both outdoor and indoor saunas, giving you the perfect option to suit your needs.
Indoor saunas are one of the most popular options for those looking to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing spa experience. Indoor saunas are usually cabins, that are warmed up with an electric heater. Our most popular saunas in this category are the Auroom cabins.
Outdoor saunas are great for those who don’t have the space for a sauna inside or want to take in the fresh air in between sauna sessions. Most outdoor saunas are constructed with a wooden enclosure that provides sanctuary and comfort. The wood used is often cedar, redwood, or pine due to its insulating properties and resistance to decay.
Your sauna can be heated either with a wood-fired sauna stove or an electric heater. With an electric heater, you can make minute changes in temperature. Electric heaters also tend to heat up the sauna faster. If you're looking to use your sauna multiple times a week, we recommend picking up an electric sauna stove.
On the other hand, with a wood-fired sauna stove, you will gain a more timeless, organic experience of a Finnish sauna. If you decide to go with a wood-fired sauna stove, you need to build a chimney and do some additional fire safety maintenance.
There's no right or wrong option here and it's up to your preference which one you choose.
Remember to grab the sauna stones to go with your heater, since they are not included in most of the heater options out there.
